Who I am
Kibet Brian is a portfolio and services site operated by Kibet Brian, an independent developer based in Kenya. This policy covers https://kibetbrian.codes, the projects and articles served from it, and the project inquiries and payments linked from it.
The short version
You do not need an account to browse the site. I do not run ads, I do not use tracking cookies, and I do not sell or share your data with anyone for their own marketing.
The only personal data I hold is what you send me in a project inquiry or message, and what a client shares for billing and delivery.
What I collect
- Project inquiries: your name, email address, phone number if you share one, the service you select, your message, and any proposal document you attach.
- Client billing details: name, company, email address, phone number, country, and any tax identifier you provide for invoicing.
- Payment confirmations: receipts and transaction references from your payment provider. Card numbers and wallet credentials go directly to the provider and never touch my servers. A mobile money account identifier you pay from is visible to me as the sender.
- Messages you send: anything you include when you email me, use the contact form, or message me on WhatsApp or Discord.
What I do not collect
I do not run advertising, cross-site tracking or fingerprinting, and I do not build profiles. I never see or store your card number, bank login, or crypto private keys.
I only ever see the project materials you choose to share for the work itself.
Your theme preference is kept in your browser's local storage on your own device. It is never sent to me.
Payments
I accept bank wire transfer, cryptocurrency, and mobile money. You pay through the provider directly, so your payment credentials are handled entirely by them under their own privacy policy. I receive only the confirmation I need to start and receipt your work, such as your name, the amount, and a transaction reference.
Cryptocurrency payments are confirmed on-chain before work that depends on them begins.
Service providers
I rely on a small number of third parties to run the site and take payment. Each processes only the data needed for its function.
- Your bank and wire intermediaries, crypto networks, and mobile money providers: payment processing. Each governs your payment data under its own policy.
- GitHub: hosts the portfolio repository behind the site.
- My hosting provider: serves the site and keeps short-lived server logs, including IP addresses, for security and reliability.
How I use your information
I use inquiry and contact details to reply to you and to scope a project. I use client and billing details to deliver the work, issue invoices and receipts, and meet accounting duties. I do not use any of it for automated decision making or profiling.
Where your data is processed
I operate from Kenya and my providers process data in the United States and the European Union. Where personal data is transferred out of your country, it is covered by the safeguards those providers put in place, such as standard contractual clauses.
How long I keep it
Invoices and project records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires, currently up to eight years. Inquiries that never become projects are kept while the conversation is live, then deleted.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the personal data I hold about you, ask me to correct it, ask me to delete it, or object to a particular use, subject to records I am legally required to keep. Email its.kibetbrian@gmail.com and I will respond within 2 business days, and in any case within 30 days.
Where your data sits with a payment provider, I will help route your request to them. If you are in the EU or the UK and you are not satisfied with my response, you can complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Payment credentials go directly to your chosen provider and never pass through my servers. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so I cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 16, and I do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has given me personal data, email me and I will delete it.
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy as the site and services change. The date at the top always reflects the current version. If a change materially affects an active client, I email them first.
